Mr. Strong has more than 14 years of experience as a chef. His first introduction to the culinary world was during his youth as the son of a wine importer and distributor in New York City. Mr. Strong started his career by attending the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, where he received training from some of the top chefs in the country. He is well known for his innovative and creative cuisine. Mr. Strong has worked in several of Washington, DC’s top kitchens, including the Red Sage, McCormick and Schmick's, Poste Moderne Brasserie, and Maloney & Porcelli. He has participated in numerous cooking demonstrations and special events, including guest chef at Sur La Table, Dean and Deluca, Julia Child's 90th birthday celebration and the 2006 U.S. Open. Mr. Strong has worked alongside the likes of David Burke, John Ashe and Michel Richard. Currently, Mr. Strong is the Executive Chef for Haute Catering in Washington, DC, and he oversees daily events throughout the U.S. Capitol, House of Representatives, U.S. Naval Academy, the Pentagon and surrounding areas. Mr. Strong has traveled throughout Europe, Central America and the United States. In his spare time he enjoys golfing, traveling, and spending time with his wife and daughter.
