Catering Chef

Haute Catering, the elite up-scale caterer to the U.S. House of Representatives, National Defense University, Pentagon, National Archives and U.S. Naval Academy is seeking to add a Catering Chef its rapidly growing team.

The successful candidate will be joining a team that delivers world-class catered events and focuses on consistently exceeding customer’s expectations for food quality.  This is a fast-paced environment working with very demanding clientele, appropriate for an individual with strong problem solving skills and the ability to “think outside the box.”

Job Functions:

  • Supervise the production, preparation and presentation of the hot and cold foods department. 
  • Achieves profit goals by maximizing staff productivity and produces a high quality food product.
  • Provide a safe work environment that utilizes high sanitation standards.
  • Schedules, trains, develops and coaches kitchen staff.

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years culinary experience, preferably in a catering or fine dining environment.
  • Culinary degree highly desirable.
  • Solid knowledge of food cost and general accounting principles.
  • Ability to create and execute regional cuisine with  focus on fresh local products.
  • Able to manage staff of up to 25 people for daily production.
  • Serv Safe certified and able to follow HACCP guidelines.
  • Strong communication and management skills.

Compensation: $45k + Bonus

Catering Sales

Are you our next outstanding achiever? Haute Catering, the award winning caterer, with locations at the U.S. House of Representatives, Pentagon, NDU, NARA and US Naval Academy, is looking for a Catering Sales person. This is the perfect position for someone with sales and catering/event planning background. In this position you will sell and design catering and event services to a variety of corporate, government, military and social clients throughout the DC & MD &VA area. In this role, you will be preparing and distributing catering proposals; developing menus and special event décor; coordinating and sourcing vendors for event supplies; planning and communicating event logistics, set-up and special needs with internal departments.

The successful candidate must; be aggressive and generate new leads and develop relationships with new clients; have an enthusiasm for creating truly special events; enjoy designing menus, décor and layout; knowledgeable of current industry trends and comfortable experimenting with new catering ideas. Superior sales and communication skills; excellent organizational skills; and the ability to prioritize work, multitask and be detail-oriented are considered essential. Previous experience working in a catering or sales environment is strongly desired. Experience with MS Word and Excel, e-mail and navigation of the Internet, and Web Applications are required.
